Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen (born 6 May 1964) is an actor from Denmark. Danish actor from Denmark. He has played Copenhagen mayoral candidate Troels Hartmann in the drama series The Killing, Charles Augustus Magnussen in the third season of Sherlock, the Russian president Viktor Petrov in the American House of Cards on Netflix as well as Grand Admiral Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels. He received the Reumert Prize of Honour in 2011 at the age of 27. In 1995, he graduated to the National Theatre School of Denmark. Apart from his appearance in The Killing, [1] the actor also appeared on Borgen III, a Danish drama that was widely acclaimed. He played the role of President of Russia in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock. He was awarded an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his role in the Danish drama Herrens Veje, which aired in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm
